CRDB Bank Plc is an African bank and a leading Financial Services Provider in Tanzania with current presence in Tanzania and Burundi, East Africa. Since it was established in 1996, CRDB Bank has grown to become the most innovative and preferred financial services partner in the region.

Recently The Bank has built its New Headquarter office in Dar es salaam, and as the Most Advanced Digital Banking Services in Eastern Africa’ – 2021, CRDB Bank has deployed the most advanced ICT Infrastructures in the HQ building. SoftNet technologies ltd was awarded by CRDB Bank to design and implement cutting edge Enterprise Network Solutions.

Challenges
  • The new building needed to have network infrastructure with visibility, automation, high availability and Scalability.
  • Internal VOIP communication of users locally in the building, outside the building to other CRDB branches and internationally. The new VOIP communication will have to include the Call center systems and also conference endpoint in each floor to be used with users trying to have conference meeting within CRDB Corporate network or outside the network.
  • To have a centralized solution for advertisement contents that when they are created, they can be shared from a centralized platform in multiple digital signage screens obtained in the building.
  • Meeting rooms booking systems to control meeting rooms’ traffic.
Solutions

Cisco Software-Defined Access

In the new HQ, CRDB Deployed new infrastructure based on Cisco Digital Network Architecture (Cisco DNA) and Cisco SD-Access in order to better respond to the constantly evolving business environment. Its single network fabric enabled responsive management integrating wired and wireless networks, collaboration, and the mobility needed to support a flexible working environment. Furthermore, the company is now able to consistently manage policies and provide reliable services to its network users, devices, and business applications.

Cisco unified communication Solutions

The CRDB bank users now utilizes Cisco unified Comms for voice calling and video conferencing, voice mail, mobility, instant messaging and presence, and more. Unified communications (UC) solutions deliver integration of these tools, with seamless user experiences that help people work together more effectively. The Cisco unified communication manager provide call control for VOIP calling of all users in CRDB HQ and Branches. The cisco IM and Presence application provide the video and audio calling, instant messaging and presence with cisco jabber application using web or mobile phone. The voice mails for users are managed by Cisco unity application.

Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) Solution

Call center software from Cisco offers a combination of multichannel contact management, intelligent routing, and network-to-desktop computer telephony integration (CTI) capabilities to improve management throughout the call center. With advanced IVR system customers are now getting satisfied of their requests and queries through the Self-services provided by IVR, and this has reduced the call volume to the CRDB call center Agents. Agent Workforce Management by Eleveo has increased the Agents productivity. Advanced Call recordings by Eleveo has been increased the Agents adherence to call center etiquettes. The Calls abandon Minimization is now facilitated by Triggers and Warnings provided by 2ring Dashboard.

Video Conference solutions and collaboration edge

The VC solution mainly comprises of Video Mesh which keeps media on-premises, providing a high-quality user experience, and allows meetings to overflow to the cloud when on-premises resources are exhausted. In the building, new video endpoints such as cisco Webex room kits, desk kits and board, have been installed registered into the CRDB BANK Webex cloud platform to provide user with conference meeting with anyone from anywhere thought Webex platform.  Mobile and remote access feature with cisco expressways enables user outside the CRDB Corp network to communication with inside users without VPN using Cisco Jabber.

Digital signage system

Appspace is a scalable, enterprise-grade, cloud-based SaaS platform, which enables content administrators and publishers to centrally manage the publishing and distribution of content to thousands of endpoint devices. CRDB Bank Head office required digital advertisement content to be displayed in their new HQ in variety of places in the building. Total of 25 Digital Signage TVs have been deployed which all registered and managed into Appspace cloud application.

Meeting rooms booking solution

Goget Room Booking system Manage room bookings to control traffic via a sleek touch-screen outside each meeting room, and present a wide range of customized information including availability and meeting event. Goget can be connected with its adapter for power but mostly likely POE+ is used. Goget must be used with mailing services such as Ms. Exchange, Office 365, or Google G-Suite for calendar integration and online booking and no server software installation required only its cloud application for management.  This Solution has two types of booking, online booking using your email address and physical interaction booking where a user books the meeting on the device itself.

CRDB Bank deployed Gogets devices in its 30 meeting rooms for room traffic control and each user is able to book the meeting rooms through email, or physical interaction with the device.
