Since 2002, we have delivered successful business-driven technology solutions for top Firms in Tanzania and numerous small and medium enterprise customers. During that time, we have grown from startup to a Class ONE registered contractor with Contractors Registration Board of Tanzania (CRB), also licensed on Installation and Maintenance of Telecommunication Equipment by Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) and a Premier Partner of Cisco Systems. We have also grown from handling projects valuing few thousands business to hundred of thousands of dollars. We have a professional staff base of more than 50 IT professionals.

DIRECTORS

NURU YAKUB OTHMAN
CEO and CTO

Nuru holds BEng. Computer and information engineering from Malaysia and MAsc. computer Engineering from Concordia University, Canada. He is also holding a number of professional certifications, including Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD),  Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco small and medium Business Account Manager (SMBAM). He is also Certified in Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Telecommunication Industry Knowledge, HTML and JavaScript Programming, General Computer Support, D-Link products support as well as Administration of Unified Communication Systems and Call Center System Integration.
Nuru has worked as a telephony developer and later as head of R&D for a unified communication service provider in Malaysia. He then moved to Canada and was part of the support team for D-link product line in Canada. He has also spent 2 years of research Telecom Value Added Service at Ericsson Canada, in a joint project with Concordia University.
He has published and has been a future speaker in a number of international conferences, including the IEEE Symposium of Computer and Communication (ISCC’06 and ISCC’07), IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC’07).
He is a founding member, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of SoftNet.


 

GILBERT HERMAN
Chief Information CIO

Gilbert holds BSc. In Electronics and Communication from University of Dar-es-salaam. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) . He is also Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) as well as (IT Infrastructure Library) ITIL.
Gilbert has worked in key ICT leadership positions in reputable national and international organizations, from being Field at Support Engineer to IT Support Manager, System Administrator to becoming country head of IT for a reputable international organization - Standard Chartered Bank. Apart from hands on experience in implementing numerous technical projects,  Gilbret has been responsible in overseeing proper service delivery and insuring that the process do comply with known  best practices and standards.

He has overseen implementation, upgrades and migration of mission critical core banking applications as well as end user systems, and ensuring that the uptime targets of 99% are achieved.

 

 

The SoftNet Technical Team comprises more than 70 IT Professionals with a wealth of academic and professional certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, MCSE, MCP, ITIL and so on.
